Stories of Successful Families: Danissa Salinas Family
Danissa Salinas has a small grocery business and is a single mother. She lives alone with her daughter in Masaya. Before meeting her, we commented that work was dedicated to making crafts with her daughter so that the situation in Nicaragua was difficult. A person who knew about the programs of the Foundation and was an active participant invited her to a short introduction about the Cause for Hope Foundation to publicize their programs. The same person shared the experience she gained as a benefit for participating in programs. The idea of Danissa was to start a small business. She liked the tools because of the hope it provides for self-reliance. So she enrolled in the course of SAD. At the Self-Employment workshop, she learned the tools to start a business. With the help of Cause for Hope she prepared a business plan to receive credit and start her business. In these difficult times when others work to survive and help a child to train teachers did not generate enough to pay expenses for her and her daughter. Now her income is $500 dollars and her savings stays at $75. The growth has been impressive, generating enough to invest in her business and meet her family's expenses. Since the day of her enrollment in the programs of Cause for Hope, her life has changed completely. She is a person who has attained self-sufficiency and is a successful family, has a Savings account that lets her save money to prepare for the future.
